For 2012, I put into practice an idea I got from Pinterest–I bought a cheap monthly planner and wrote one thought every day that captured the most important thing I was doing or thinking that day. Sometimes I’d embellish with fancy writing, colored pens, or some doodles, although I admit for the last few months there hasn’t been time for any artistic extras. The result is a true year-in-review at a glance–it brings back memories, good and bad, in a flash.
So I’m upgrading this year to a Moleskine weekly planner, and I hope when 2013 is up, it looks like the suggested version on the Moleskine website:
This has been one of the easiest ways to incorporate writing and creativity into each day, even when I don’t have very much time, and now I have a very nice–and portable–memoir of 2012.
